Premium Paper Cup Raw Materials for Disposable Cups & Food Packaging SYTAI offers high-performance PE-coated paper, the essential raw material for manufacturing disposable paper cups, food containers, lunch boxes, and ice cream cups. Made from selected food-grade virgin wood pulp and coated with a uniform layer of polyethylene (PE), our material provides an optimal barrier against liquids, oil, and moisture. Designed for efficiency, our paper runs smoothly on high-speed cup forming machines (compatible with brands like ACE, PNC, and WPI), ensuring minimal waste and consistent output.
Paper Raw Materials
What are the main raw materials for paper cups?
Typically food-grade paperboard (virgin pulp) coated with polyethylene (PE) or PLA for barrier. SYTAI offers both PE and PLA lined papers, plus base stock.
Is SYTAI paper cup stock FDA approved?
Yes, our PE coated grades comply with FDA 21 CFR 176.170 for aqueous and fatty foods. Certificates available per batch.
Do you provide FSC-certified raw materials?
Absolutely. SYTAI is FSC certified (FSC-C128460). We can supply FSC 100% or FSC Mix on request.
What coatings are available for hot vs cold cups?
Double-sided PE (for hot drinks, up to 95°C) and single-side PE (for cold cups). PLA coating is preferred for compostable cold cups.
Are these materials recyclable?
PE coated paper can be recycled where facilities exist (re-pulping). PLA grades are industrially compostable. We also have development towards mono-material recyclable options.
What is the typical lead time?
Stock items: 7–10 days. Custom production: 20–25 days. Air and sea freight arranged.
Do you support custom width / printing base?
Yes, we slit to your exact width (minimum 50mm increments). The paper is suitable for flexo/offset printing before cup forming.
What’s the difference between PE and PLA lining?
PE is oil-based, excellent barrier, lower cost. PLA is bio-based, compostable, but lower heat tolerance. Both are food-safe.
